KANAR vs NERO
This week is the kanar 9 day, and knowing some people that play kanar, they talked me into coming out and trying it.
First i went to see where they play. they own a permanent site in milan. its 41 achers, which gives you LOTS of space to play in. not to mention they give the players full rein to build whatever structures they want. which brings me to ordue, the Elvin lands. i play an elf there, and WOW, their lands are cool. ewalk village kinda shit. its not as cool as it should be, but give it 2 years, it'll be there.
the camp doesn't have electricity, but trust me, this isnt a bad thing. it forced everyone to use candles and torches. i cant tell you how amazing it was standing top the ordue guard tower (yes, ordue has a 20 foot guard tower) looking out of their back trails that are lit with tiki torches. amazing.
now for the bad stuff about the camp. its loud, because the milan drag way is about 1/8 mile away from our site, so during the day, you hear "dragons mating" in the distance. hehe. also, its on a semi-wet land. the water doesn't get to you, and its not that muddy, but the mosquitoes were bad. a little off made everything good though.
the cost of kanar is only 100 bucks a year, compared to the whopping 50 bucks an event for nero, thats a lot of extra cash for you, but not for the chapter owners. which means some cut backs
kanar does not have make-up for their NPCs, nor does it have garb, so if you wanna play a bad as NPC, better get it on your own. so expect that goblin to look exactly like your friend "Kapin" with an orange sash on, signifying he is indeed an NPC. it doesnt take much away from the game play at all, considering all the people there are graet A role-players.
Which brings me to the role-play. OUTSTANDING. i cant express the amount of role-play there. i was taken back when i encountered some of the in game conversations. not to mention the way they role-play damage, and healing. its amazing, i cant describe the role-play, you'll just have to experience it for yourself. kanar GREATLY outweighs nero in this aspect.
all in all, kanar is a great game, and i could talk about it for hours. if you really wanna ask me questions about it, email demo@neverendingdoom.com or just IM me with Verinhos.
